Focus X2:

  1. When you downloaded Focus onto your computer a new icon called the 'Focus Licensing Wizard' will have been created on your desktop. Double click on this icon to open the License Wizard.
  2. Select the 'Request a License Activation Code' button and follow the Request process through, selecting the 'Request a License Activation Code by email' option at the end.
(Please note: If for any reason you have a problem in generating an email automatically, please copy the Computer ID, Registered User and Organisation details from the License Wizard and paste them into your own email programme and send this to: support@performanceinnovation.net)
  3. Send the email that is generated.

My PC hangs during capture, what should I do?

You can often get problems during capture because of your laptop going into power saving mode. This can turn off hard disks and result in a capture "hang". Be sure that all power savers and screen savers are turned off before capture.

I cannot hear sound in Focus, what can I do?

Sound is supported in Focus X2. The only control is a mute switch so it is possible that this is checked? If you start Focus then click on 'Video'. There is an option that says 'Audio muted' make sure there is no check mark next to this.

If you still do not hear sound then you may have the volume turned down on your computer or the video format may not be presenting sound to Focus. Given you have had problems with video format the latter may be possible.

To check the PC sound go to 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'Accessories' -> 'Entertainment' -> 'Volume control'. This will show all the different audio streams for your PC.

How do I create highlights?

Highlights are new video clips that contain some video that you want to share: for example the best goals from a season or a particular player's tackling technique. Focus X2 allows you to create these new highlights videos based on events you have selected in your Focus project. The highlights video is in AVI format and can be shared or burned to disk and played on any PC.

From the File menu select 'Highlights'
This will then take you through a series of steps to create your highlights video

The process for creating highlights is:

  1. Select one or more events that you want to put in the highlights clip
  2. Select how long you want each clip to be
  3. Decide on where the clip should be stored and how much video to store for each event
  4. Decide what to do about the transitions between events in the new clip
  5. Create the new clip

How do I send 'debug' information to you?

This is an error log that Focus creates every time it is started up. It is a small text file called FocusX2.dbg. You can find it by opening My Computer and going to this folder:

Documents/AppData/Local/Elite Sports Analysis/FocusX2/Focusx2.dbg

Please send us an email and attach the file.

I am having problems creating 'Highlights' clips, what can I do?

This may be related to the specific video format that you are using. This can be easily resolved by quickly converting your video files to .avi format which Focus works well with. For this task we use a video converter called 'Free Video Converter' that you can download from the internet. You can download this converter from the following link;
